Chapter two

Jim walked to the window. The curtains waved him into his face.

“Oh Damn!” he yelled and put them away from him. Then he looked out of the window. This guy could have easily climbed into this tree.

“Hello? Is anybody out of here?” he screamed. No answer. “Oh c’mon! I won’t climb in this tree to find you! Come out now!”  No answer again. Jim wanted to give up. Maybe this guy was somewhere in the school or found somebody to talk to. He turned around. Suddenly he heard a noise in the branches.

“Hello?” he screamed again. “Nosedive?”

“Who are you?” asked a voice from somewhere in the tree.

“I’m Jim Hawkins…your roommate! Please can ya come down?” Jim asked.

“Where d’ya know my name from?” the voice asked again.

“You know, it’s not difficult, if your bags are every where in my room! No come down or I’ll close the window!”

“Okay okay! Keep cool!”

He heard rustle of leaves in the branches. He stepped away a little bit to let his “guest” some room. Nosedive jumped into the room. Jim was surprised. He thought his new roommate would be a human like him or even one of the aliens that usually came to the Academy. But instead he found some kinda duck in his room. A human-like duck with long blond hair. Okay! Why not?

“So, what did ya want up there?” Jim asked while closing the window.

“Stay alone!” the duck answered.

“Anyway… I  shall tell ya the rules of the Academy” Jim said. He wasn’t really interested in this duck!

“I know them! Your principal already told them to me” He answered.

“That’s great!” said Jim sarcastically. “Okay…then I’ll tell ya the room rules! Number one:

Your bags can’t stand in the middle of the room. Somebody could stumble over them!”

“Did ya stumble over them?” Nosedive grinned.

“Number Two: You touch nothing in here, all right?” Jim went on.

“Woo! What are you? Maid of the Academy or something like that? You should wear an apron then, pal!”

“You think that’s funny?” Jim got angry.

“Yeah! I think this is funny. What are these rules for? Did you invent them?” Dive asked.

“I just want you to left my things alone! And if anything is different in here, I swear I’ll cook ya , duck!” Jim was very angry now.

“Are you in a bad mood or so? Man! You are very hospitable dude!”

“I’m not your pal and I’m not your dude! Remember that!”

“What`s wrong with you?”

“You ask what’s wrong? I tell ya what’s wrong. I started the most boring vacations in my whole life trying to search a stupid teen duck, who takes me to a physical break down just the first ten minutes he is here!” Jim screamed. This duck was getting on his nerves.

“Okay! I got it! I’m sorry for ruining your life, master of all beings! Now I remember why I can’t stand humans!” Dive also screamed.

“Then why don’t ya leave me and return to your planet?”

“Because the only fun in my life is to annoy stupid children of man!”

Nosedive left and took his bags into his part of the room. Jim ran to the door.

“Fine! Then try to come along here! Alone!” he went out and closed the door.

‘Great! My first day with this plaque and I’m already at the end of my nerves! Why did his stupid brother bring him to here?’ Jim thought while going to the library. He often was here before he knew Dolphy. He didn’t read so much, but he loved the silence. He could think about everything which kept him busy.

HELLO DARKNESS MY OLD FRIEND! I’VE COME TO TALK WITH YOU AGAIN!

He often thought of this song he heard once when he was here. Jim sat down in a corner far away from some other students. He didn’t wanna see one of them. In fact he didn’t wanna see any one now…except Dolphy. He missed her right now. He thought what she might do at the moment. Maybe she was already home, sitting between her family, telling them about the Academy, about school…about him. Suddenly he felt really lonely. Of course, he was lonely long before, but when you love somebody who isn’t there, you feel like the only person in the galaxy. Jim stared through the window. He couldn’t imagine that somebody else did the same thing in the same moment.

Nosedive stood at the window, either. And he also stared into space. He thought of his planet and his brother.

“Wing? Why did ya do this to me? I can’t be alone and you know that!” he thought. “I can’t forgive ya that!”

He turned around and took a look of the room. It was some kinda big room. He looked at his bed. His eyes followed the wall from there. A cupboard with many books was the next thing he saw, followed by some pictures on the wall, mostly of dolphins and some kinda hand-drawn pics. Jim’s bed. He looked to the other side. There was a third bed. He asked himself, if Jim had another roommate. But the principal didn’t speak about somebody else. He only said: “You’ll live with Jim Hawkins, who’s also alone at the moment. You’ll like him. He’s a kind boy!”  Nosedive smiled.

“A kind boy” he thought. “Oh yeah! I already love him. Think we’re gonna be the best friends!”

He went to his bed and opened his bag. He unpaged just a photo of his brother and him on Puckworld, his planet. They looked so happy on that picture. But Dive returned it into the bag.

“I hate you for sending me here!” He laid down. “And I hate this human boy!”
