Hey there. It’s me again! Well, I cut this short, okay? This chapter is kinda short, I  know. But I promise the next one to be much longer! :D

Chapter three

Jim looked at his watch.

“Oh my god, it’s already 8pm” he noticed. “How long have I been here?”

He decided to go back to his room. He walked along the floor to the elevator. It was the first floor of the Academy. There were wallpapers everywhere and information-sheets. Sometimes the students built a table there on which they laid old books or magazines they didn’t like anymore. And everyone who was interested in them could come along and take one. Well, but most of the students were rather interested in parties and their spare time instead. So it was no miracle that the obviously very small table was gone under these lots of books and magazines.

Jim hold on next to the table. One book on this thing caught his eye. There was a big ship on it with people climbing in the riggings and still looking like pirates. “A Treasure Journey” was the title of this book. He took it with him. He loved stories about pirates, but the most important thing was that he had something to do during these vacations. And maybe Dolphy wanted to read it, too?! Anyway, Jim took the book and walked to the elevator. He pushed the button with the “7”. Some seconds later he stood in the seventh floor and walked to his room.

“Hope that brute didn’t make any stress” he thought.

During his absence something had changed in his room. One of those things was Nosedives mood. He’d already unpacked his bags and walked through the room trying to find a link to whom this third bed was for. But he found nothing. And he also didn’t dare to look in the wardrobe of Jim. Nobody would like another person to look into his private things. Neither Dive himself nor anyone else in the world.

Suddenly he heard something behind him. Dive turned around.

“Is anybody there?” he asked. But all he earned was silence. But he swore there was something. The blond duck walked to one small table near the window. He looked around it, but he couldn’t find anything strange. He was shrugging his shoulders. Maybe it was an illusion.

“Why the hell am I still here?” he asked himself. “This place is so huge…Think I can do anything here instead of sitting in the room the whole day.”

He wanted to leave the room, when he suddenly heard another sound from the table. This time it sounded like a purr of a cat or something like that. No! This wasn’t an illusion. There surely was something. He walked to the table again. Nothing!

“This can’t be?” he thought. Then he noticed the small drawer. He opened it. But he couldn’t believe what was inside of it. Some kinda pink bubble with eyes. Dive didn’t believe his eyes. This gismo flew out of the drawer and hold on next to Nosedive. The drake was still confused. Suddenly the pink-colored thing transformed… into a duck. And of course Nosedive knew this duck. It was him. He stretched out his arm to touch it. But as he touched it, it changed back into this pink blob.

“Holy cow! What are you?” he asked incredulously.

“What are you?” the thing imitated him.

“You can’t speak, can ya?”

The thing flew around the mallard and did the same sounds like he did before Dive opened the drawer.

“So! This was you, eh?” he had to laugh thinking about having been frightened of this thing. “I guess you are not dangerous, are you?”

The blob shook his…well, head. After that he flew to Dive again and sat down on his shoulder. Dive had to laugh again.

“Are you a pet or something like that? You surely belong to Jim, hm?” he asked.

Morph imitated him again: “Belong to Jim…purr!”

“You’re cute!”

This moment the door opened. Jim came in. The pink thing flew straight to him.

“Hey Morph! Here you are! I thought you were somewhere outside!” Jim said in a friendly tone. Dive was surprised to hear him speaking that way.

“What is this?” he asked.

Jim didn’t look at him. “Why do you care?”

“I just wanna know!”

“It’s a shape-shifter! His name is Morph!”

“Shape-shifter? I didn’t know something like that exist!” Dive admitted.

“Yeah! Now you know!” Jim looked at him with a sinister look. “Just stay away from him!”

“Hey, what’s your problem? I won’t break him” Dive answered.

“You are my problem! I could’ve had wonderful vacations, but instead I have to take care of such an urchin like ya!”

“Hey…It wasn’t my idea to come here. And besides you don’t look any older that me!”

“So why don’t you go back to wherever you come from? Would be the best for all of us!” Jim yelled.

“Oh man! I can’t believe I’m here. It’s one of the big riddles of our time why such a cute thing like Morph likes to be with you!” cried Dive.

“Maybe he just likes normal guys!” Jim answered.

“Oh yeah! So tell me ‘normal guy’ where d’ya have him from? A present from mommy, eh?”

“He was a present that’s right…But I dunno why this is your business!”

“Must be a jerk! Nobody would give such a cool thing to you!” Dive turned around.

“What did you say?” Jim was really angry now.

“The one who gave Morph to you must’ve been a jerk!” the blond drake repeated.

“How dare you! You don’t even know him!” Tears were in his eyes now.

Nosedive froze when he saw this.

“He was like a father to me! And you say he was a jerk? You? You’re nothing!” Jim screamed. “You don’t know how it is to have no father at all!”

He turned around. After a few minutes he felt a hand on his shoulder.

“I’m sorry, Jim!” It was Nosedive. “I know how you feel. My parents are dead since years.”

Jim remembered. The principal told him. It was this accident on the planet of this duck.

“Don’t touch me” he said with a weak voice.

Dive stepped away from him. “I’m really sorry!” he said and went out of the door.
