Notice: Hi! It’s me again! I know it took a
long time but here’s the new chapter J
Please
notice that I borrowed some of the characters Dolphy created! I needed some
villains, so I decided to take ‘em! And I was too lazy to create some new
charactersJ
So enjoy!
For Angie!!!
J
Jim laid on
his bed! He was absorbed in thought. Okay, he always thought much…every time!
About any kind of things. But this time he thought of something, he really
cared about: Why wasn’t he able to hide his feelings in front of this duck?
He’d showed him the only thing he was really afraid of: emotions! Now this
blond pain in the neck knew where to attack him! He was such a stupid-head! How
could he do this? So stupid! He laid there and held his head in his hands,
still puzzling what had happened some minutes ago!
“Dolphy!
Why aren’t you here?” he whispered. “I need you!”
Morph flew
around him without a sound as if he didn’t know what to do. He’d never seen Jim
so lost. Then he suddenly stopped and transformed into a person, who could
maybe help his friend out of this!
“Don’t
worry!” said the lil shape-shifter.
Jim raised
his head and he couldn’t believe his eyes. The person in front of him was the
only person except Dolphy he was ever able to tell anything: John Silver – in
miniature! He looked with his normal,
happy expression on his face into his eyes and smiled, so that you could see
his teeth.
Jim looked
at him for a while. Suddenly he smiled again!
“You are
right, Morphy!” he stroked the pink blob, who transformed back into his normal
look. “I shouldn’t give in coz of that! But I wish Silver would be here. He
knew what to do with a pup like him!”
He started
to tickle Morph and smiled even more. Morph instead laughed as if there’ll be
no tomorrow. Tears were spreading out of his eyes.
Nosedive
walked along the corridor of his floor. Like Jim he was absorbed into thought.
He simply couldn’t forget Jims face telling him he should shut-up. These big
blue eyes filled with tears. He didn’t know why Jim reacted like this. He
didn’t even know why he told all these horrible things to him. All he knew was
he went too far! Much too far! How could he do this? He would hate everyone,
who talked about his parents like this! And he knew perfectly well, what it
means to lose someone you love. So, how could he dare to speak to Jim like
that? He didn’t know! The only thing he knew was, he wanted home. Back into his
house, back into his familiar surrounding, back to his family!
“Family!
Yeah, right!” thought Dive. “A family, who send me here! They don’t want me to
be with them!”
So, he
continued his way through the school till he arrived at the cafeteria. Nosedive
opened the door and looked around. Some students, who didn’t drive home sat
there for Dinner. Some of them sat there with some open books in front of them,
others with their friends, but all in all the cafeteria was relatively empty.
Just in the moment Nosedive wanted to turn around a voice sounded from behind
him.
“Hey! Wait,
pal!”
The teen duck
turned around again. A big dark haired ‘Gorilla-Like’ student stood in front of
him. He was much bigger than Nosedive, at least three heads or so. He had small
grey eyes and big arms. His upper arms were these kinda arms, which made girls
melting away (Lobby: I am not one of these, but I’ve always
observed these kinda ‘ooh-my-make-up-doesn’t-fit-my-shoes’ girlies and they
behave like that! Believe me!J ). He wore
a dark blue t-shirt with a ‘scull-like’ pattern on it and tight, very tight
jeans.
“You are
the new guy, right?” asked this student.
Dive had to
look up to him. “Yeah! And you are?”
“I’m
Carren!” he answered. “Hey, which kind of planet are you from? You look like a
duck!”
“Wow! A
super-brain!” thought Dive cynically. “Puckworld! We all look like ‘ducks’, if
that’s so special!” he finally said.
“No! Sorry,
pal! I didn’t want to provoke ya! But don’t you wanna sit down with me? I’ve
got some questions I want you to ask!” said Carren.
“Well, why
not!” thought Dive. “At least it’s better than walking through the academy
without any reason!”
So, the
duck and the ‘gorilla’ sat down on a free table. Dive observed his surrounding
very precisely. Everyone near the table they sat down stared at them. Nobody
dared to speak. What did that mean?
“D’ya wanna
drink or eat something?” Carren asked.
“No!
Thanx!” said Dive. “What is it that you wanted to ask me, anyway?”
“Well, my
dear duck…by the way what was your name?” he started.
Dive gave
him a suspicious look. “Nosedive!”
“Ha ha! Is that so?” the teenager grinned.
“Did you fall down this often as baby, or why?”
The blond
duck didn’t get any reason why his name was so funny!
“No! My
parents just thought it’s a nice name!” he answered.
“Okay,
okay! Sorry! Hey don’t look at me like this! I was just kidding!” he smiled. “I
won’t bite ya or something!”
Maybe this
Carren was right. Dive was too suspicious. Maybe he just wanted to be kind.
“Forget
it!” he forced himself to a smile. “So, what d’ya wanna know?”
“Oh yeah!
Right! See, I heard that you are in the same room like this guy, this Jim
Hawkins!”
Dive
nodded.
“ I also
heard from somebody that you doesn’t come along with him very well. Anyway, I
want to ask you, if you could do me a little favour?” Carren continued.
“In which
way?” Dive asked.
“You know,
Jim is a good friend of mine and I’ve planned something to surprise him. All I
need is a little help from you side!”
“But why
don’t you tell him, if he’s your friend?”
“Well, if
I’ll tell him, it won’t be a surprise anymore” said Carren.
“Maybe
you’re right!”
“Of course,
I am! See, what I’ve planned is something, he always wanted to do, but he
couldn’t. He’s a very big fan of Solar-surfers, I hea…er…noticed. But he can’t
use them here without the permission of the principal. And only a few chosen
pupils are able to get such a permission! Understood?” he looked into Dives
eyes.
“Yeah!
Until now.” Dive answered.
“And as a
hint of fate I am one of these students! So I went to the principal and asked
him for a permission to use a Solar-surfer at the ground of the academy, just
for an hour!” he said. “And I borrowed a really good Solar-surfer from a
friend. Now, I want Jim to use it for this hour, but I want this to be the
surprise.
“And now,
it’s your turn! You’ll tell Jim he has to come to the garden behind the
academy. I dunno what you’re going to tell him, but you’ll imagine something!
And then he’ll find this Solar-surfer standing there, just for him! And then
I’ll be there and tell him the whole surprise! SO, what do you think?” he asked.
Dive
puzzled a while. Then he nodded: “Okay! I will help you!”
“It’s a
good chance to apologize for my harsh words.” he thought.
“Wonderful!
Let’s say at three p.m. tomorrow?”
“Sounds
good to me!”
“Fine.” he
held out his hand to Dive. “ Then bring him to me!”
They shook
hands and afterwards the duck decided to go back to his room. After he
vanished, some students came to Carrens table.
“Jim
Hawkins is a very good friend of yours?” one of them asked.
“Oh, shut
up you fool!” Carren said. “The most important thing is that this duck will
bring the boy to us! Now his curious little girl friend ain’t here! We’re going
to teach him now!”
Carren
started to laugh and all of the students around him laughed immediately, too.
Dive walked
back to his room. He wanted to walk in, but decided to knock before entering
instead. He didn’t expect an answer from inside and he didn’t got one. But he
was quite sure that he’d done right. He entered the room without a word. Jim
laid on his bed and faced the wall. Morph flew to the blond teen-duck
immediately and started to lick his face.
“Uah! All
right, Morphy! I’m also glad to see you!” said Dive.
He went to
his bed and started to unpack the rest of his bag. Sometimes he looked over to
Jim as if he would disturb him with the noises clothes did. But Jim showed no
reaction.
“I suppose
he’s sleeping.” thought the duck.
After a
while he came across an old frame with a picture of his parents, his brother
and him. They all were looking so happy on this photo. Dive stared at his
parents. His Mom was a very beautiful duck. She had long blonde hair and ocean
blue eyes. She wore blue jeans and a long, brownish coat. Her long hair was
bound away with a dark brown scarf and wonderful bluish earrings were twinkling
in her ears. She smiled. His father on the other hand was a very big duck. He
was grey and had green eyes. His big brother looked exactly like him. He wore
black trousers and a red sweater with a turtleneck He had a brown stripe over
his beak, just like Nosedive had it.
Dive
remembered this photo very good. They were in the backyard of their house on
Puckworld. It was one day after Christmas. His mother laughed the whole evening
because Wildwing and Nosedive did a snowball fight and in the moment this photo
was made, Wing hit his little brother with a snowball. It came that Dive had
completely white hair on the picture and looked very funny. ‘You would look
much more like Daddy, if you’d have white feathers’ grinned his Mom. Dive
remembered how angry he was, when the photo was taken, but now it was his favorite. He took it everywhere. No one knows about
this, not even his brother.
“What
happened to them?”
Dive turned
around. It was Jim, who sat on his bed now and observed him. He hadn’t noticed
that he was awake. The duck looked into his eyes. He didn’t seem to be angry or
something. He really wanted to have an answer on this question. Dive couldn’t
suppress a weak smile.
“They
died.” he answered.
“I’m sorry
about that.” was all Jim could say. He didn’t tell him that he knew this
before.
“It’s okay.
I got used to this. It was nearly five years ago” said Dive. (Lobby: I know this can’t be, if
you’d ever watched the TV show, but I needed a lil time difference!)
“How did
that happen?”
“It was an
attack on Puckworld. Our soldiers wanted to protect us, but they failed. Many
people died and many families were separated. They didn’t have a spark of a
chance.” said Dive.
There was a
long silence between them.
“What about
your parents?” asked Nosedive.
“I live
with my mother” answered Jim. “My Dad left us when I was about eight. I haven’t
seen him since!”
“Must be
hard.”
“No! I
don’t care. He was too cowardly to take care for his family. What kinda father
is this?”
“Well, …
some people think it’s better to have a father who doesn’t care anymore than a
father who can’t care anymore!”
“Maybe.”
Now Dive
looked at Jim again.
“But you
still have your brother, haven’t you?” asked Jim.
“Yeah! A
brother who says his little brother annoys him. A brother who thinks it’ll be
better to send his last family member on a planet millions and millions of
miles away from home just to learn not to annoy anyone anymore. What kinda
brother is this, I ask?” said Dive.
Jim had to
smile. This duck wasn’t that bad at all. It was funny talking to him though it
was a sad subject.
“Jim, may I
ask ya something?” asked Nosedive.
“Sure!”
“Would you
like to come to the backyard with me tomorrow?”
“Why?”
“I’ll show
you when we are there!” said Dive and started to smile.
“Hmm…
Okay!” Jim agreed. “But only if you promise me that this won’t be another
‘we-argue-afterwards’ action!”
“Promised!”
said Nosedive.
